Sankranti Connections Box
The Connections Box is inspired by Sankranti, which is called by various regional names and celebrated in different ways throughout South Asia (Uttarayan, Pongal, Lohri, Khichdi, Festival of Donations, and so many others!).
This Festival Box has all the supplies needed to help your little ones connect with others to learn about how other families celebrate the same festivals they do as well as other festivals/special occasions. With the Connections Box, we strive to bring a sense of belonging to all of our little ones and comfort from knowing they’re not alone in celebrating different festivals than some of their friends at school. There is something so special about writing and receiving mail, and I know it will be so fun to bring this art to our kiddos. My sincere hope is that these simple exchanges build meaningful connections and friendships!
How It Works:
Once your purchase the Connections Box, your child/family will be matched with another child/family to exchange cards/letters with (akin to a pen pal). I will do my best to pair families who have kids of similar ages, but cannot guarantee it. Whenever you and your family celebrate something special (holiday/festival, birthday, milestone, achievement) or just want to share something fun, send a card to your paired family and they will do the same! You will receive an email each month with ideas of what to send your pen pals, writing prompts/questions to ask, fun exchange ideas, and the like! The best part is that everything you need is included: greetings, art supplies, and postage.
The Connections Box will be available until January 13, 2020. I will send out family match information on January 14, 2021, the day of Sankranti!
